Questions
What length should a dining bench be?
Choose the length of your table minus a little, so the bench slides underneath. Seat about two adults on 4 feet (1200 mm).
What height is right?
About 17 3/4" (450 mm) is the usual seat height, a little lower than the table minus 10 to 12 inches.
Is it strong enough without screws?
The legs and stretcher lock together with wedges, which can be tapped tighter if the bench loosens. Glue the tenons for a permanent fit.
Which software opens the DXF?
Any CAM program that reads DXF, such as VCarve, Aspire, Fusion, Alphacam or Mach-compatible tools. Outside cuts, inside cuts and dog-bones are on separate layers, and the files are generated at real size.
