      Questions

Why is the top screwed on?

So that when it is worn out you can unscrew it and cut another. Do not glue it.

      What are the holes for?

They are a grid of holes for bench dogs and clamps. Spacing and diameter are adjustable: 3 3/4" (96 mm) is the standard of multi-function workbenches.

      Is the top strong enough?

The preview checks the span between aprons and warns you if the top may give when struck. Use a thicker board or double it with another layer.

      Which software opens the DXF?

Any CAM program that reads DXF, such as VCarve, Aspire, Fusion, Alphacam or Mach-compatible tools. Outside cuts, inside cuts and dog-bones are on separate layers, and the files are generated at real size.
