Dining table

A dining table made to your room. Set the length, width and height, and the legs, aprons and tenons follow. Add a wedged low stretcher for a much stiffer table, and choose a clean top where no tenons show.

      Questions

      What is a clean top?

With a clean top, the leg tenons go into pockets on the underside of the tabletop, so the upper face stays smooth. You machine that part with the good face down.

      Is the low stretcher necessary?

It is optional, but without it the table is a lot less rigid along its length. The wedges can be tapped in again if it loosens over time.

      Which software opens the DXF?

Any CAM program that reads DXF, such as VCarve, Aspire, Fusion, Alphacam or Mach-compatible tools. Outside cuts, inside cuts and dog-bones are on separate layers, and the files are generated at real size.
